Championing Girls and Women to Shape Their Own Lives

our-story-image.png

Aarti Home is a non-profit organization, taking care of girls of all ages-from newborn babies to young girls- in a spacious eco friendly environment in the outskirts of Kadapa. Thousands of girls have passed through the portals of Aarti Home since its inception in 1992. Our girls are cared for by dedicated house mothers in nurturing family units where they find safety and comfort in the community of sisterhood.

Our Impact

Over the years, our girls have blossomed into confident and responsible young women with their hearts in the right place. Aarti Home is a lifelong refuge for them, where they receive ongoing support and return to celebrate milestones. Currently there are 130 girls residing in Aarti Home.

Aarti Home: A Safe Haven for Girls in Need

Aarti Home is a sanctuary for orphaned, abused or abandoned girls. We identify at-risk children, assess their home background, and promote parental involvement through counselling where possible, in their safety and education. These children receive a formal education, basic necessities, and their well being and progress is monitored on a monthly basis by teachers. Under the loving care of our staff, the girls practice yoga, play, study, dance, sing  and form strong bonds, receiving personalised emotional support until they are independent and settled.

Aarti Alumni

Sandhya, our founder says “Every girl and woman should be an ‘Abhaya,’ one who can live fearlessly for the human spirit can thrive only in the absence of fear” and it warms our heart to see our girls go out and conquer the world!

A smiling 3 month old was dropped at our doorstep many years ago. We fell in love with her and named her Harshita - the smiling one. Harshita grew up as a happy child, spreading joy as she learnt her tables, fell in love with gardening and became an older sister for little children both in her cottage and others. Today Harshita is a second year college student aspiring to be an engineer.
